Human Resources Manager
Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and manage all HR functions in our company. Initially, this role will function as a department of one, with potential for expansion as the company grows. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in a variety of HR areas, including sourcing/recruiting, payroll administration, and compliance with multi-state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Staffing: Lead all aspects of the recruiting process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Develop and implement strategies to attract high-quality candidates and fill vacancies efficiently.
- Payroll Management: Administer payroll for a small number of employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Address any payroll-related queries and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Compliance Management: Oversee HR compliance across multiple states. Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and ensure the company's HR policies remain compliant. Handle audits and compliance reporting as required.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries and issues. Foster a positive work environment, resolve conflicts, and maintain confidential employee records.
- Performance Management: Develop and implement performance review processes. Guide managers and employees in the performance evaluation process and ensure it is carried out fairly and effectively.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge. Promote professional development opportunities across the organization.
- HR Strategy: Participate in strategic planning with the senior management team to align HR strategies with business objectives. Prepare reports on HR metrics to guide decision-making.
Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of sourcing/recruiting techniques and best practices.
- Experience with payroll processing and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with HR compliance requirements across multiple states.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
- Experience in a startup or small business environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual Spanish and English
